Outstanding 14 page letter discusses 1000 miners in Utah and 20,000 mormons in town and 4000 gentiles in the mountains. "The mines will bring many people here who respect not Mormonism's doctrines and they will claim the law against any sentimental respect for the rights of who married already married husbands and first wives will be very likely to sell titles when they find their signatures will bring them money without any serious thought of what may become of women who supplanted them in the affections of their husband during his lifetime. We may be quite sure of this for so far as I can learn, first wives do not look with special favor on 2nd, 3rd or 15th wives...."



Note on the last page reads: Received May 24, 1871. Answered same day by telegraph. "Go ahead. All right here."
