Fifteen Utah mining stocks issued between 1901 and 1937. 1)Milford Mining and Milling Company (UT), issued at S.L.C. in 1901. Mines at North Star Mining district, Beaver Co., Utah printed on the masthead. Pen cancelled. 2)Silver Apex Mining Company (UT), issued at Eureka, Utah in 1902. Seven mining vignettes. Unc. 3)Great Divide Mines Co. (UT), issued at S.L.C. in 1904. Eagle vignette. Unc. 4)Utah Gold Mountain Mining Company (AZ), issued at Philadelphia, Pa in 1906. Three mining vignettes. Unc. 5)American Exploration Company (ME), issued in 1906. Low cert. #4. Pen and hole cancels. 6)North Utah Mining Company of Bingham (ME), issued in 1907. Nice mining vignette. Three pence British revenue stamp in orange. Unc. 7)The Sioux Consolidated Mining Co. (UT), issued at Provo City in 1909. The co. operated the Sioux mine in the Tintic district. The ore was primarily lead with silver as a minor feature. Nice mining vignette. Unc. 8)Pittsburgh Radium Company (UT), issued in 1917 at Pittsburgh, Pa. The company owned large deposits of ore in Utah including Vanadium and radium ores. Eagle vignette and two Pennsylvania stock transfer tax stamps bottom right. Unc. 9)South Utah Mines & Smelters (ME), issued in 1912. Nice mining vignette. International Bank Note Co. N.Y. Unc. 10)Bull Valley Gold Mines Company (UT), issued in 1917. The co. operated in Washington County. Bull Valley was also known as Goldstrike. This company made sensational discoveries of ore that was seen as more valuable as specimens or for the manufacture of jewelry than for it's ore content. Some ore averaged $200,000 per ton. Seven mining vignettes. Stamp cancelled and stub attached at left. Fold splits. 11)Emma Silver Mines Company (UT), issued at SLC in 1920. Eagle vignette. The co. operated 17 patented and 5 unpatented claims in Little Cottonwood district, Salt Lake County, including a number of mines that contributed largely to the early production of the district. The more important ones of note: the old Emma mine discovered in 1868 (internationally famous in the 1860's and 70's, Valejo, North Star, South Star, Savage, Last Chance, Mackay and Revolution (1924 C.H.). 12)Utah Copper Company (NJ), issued in 1920. Mining vignette. Stamp and hole cxls. 13)Bully Boy Mines Corporation (DE), issued in 1922, comes with a $10 interest payment coupon noting the company's location as Marysvale, Utah. No vignette. The Bully Boy ranks as one of the best mines of the Ohio Mining district, organized in 1868. Unc. 14-15)Ohio Copper Company of Utah (ME), both issued in 1934. Their mine office was at Bingham Canyon.
