Lot of 2 different. 1) Daly Mining Company. Location: Uintah Mining District, Summit County, Utah Territory (printed at top). No. 1298, issued for 50 shares to Josiah Barnett in 1891. Signed by president Chambers and the secretary. Stamp cancelled. Brown border, black and gold print, mining vignette. Folds. 2) Utah Mutual Tunnel and Silver Mining Company. Unissued. 1870s Salt Lake City dateline. Nice green vignette of miner pushing an ore cart out of a tunnel. "The extensive property owned by this Company is located in Bingham Canyon and its tributaries. The veins contain mostly carbonate and sulphuret silver ores with a large percentage of lead. The lodes lie mostly in groups embracing in some instances the entire mineral belt that traverse the particular mountain in which they are situated. The locations were made with a view to their thorough working at great depth by means of tunnels to be run into the mountains from the lowest point accessible in the gulch or canyon adjacent. Upon the fact becoming known that the Oquirrh range of mountains was traversed by extensive mineral belts, Eli B Kelsey, Esq of Salt Lake City and his associates began a system of explorations which they have persistently continued for the past three years and which has resulted in the discovery and location of a great number of well defined veins some of which being thoroughly explored."
