Cornelius Vanderbilt IV (signed his name Jr.) was a newspaper publisher, journalist, author and military officer. He desired to live a "normal" life but was burdened by large debt and could not maintain the lifestyle associated with his family's social position. Here is Vanderbilt's Newspaper company. # 1152 ro 1 share to Alice E Barclay. Signed by EB McLaughlin and president Cornelius Vanderbilt Jr. (hand signed). Vanderbilt Jr. had lose connections to Nevada. He wrote "Reno" in 1929 whcih was the source material for the 1939 film Reno. He passed away in Reno in 1974. Folds. Very Nice. Perhaps Vanderbilt's most legacy is the documentary "Hitler's Reign of Terror, 1934. Here he portrays Hitler as a combination politician Huey Long, preacher Billy Sunday and gangster Al Capone. The German embassy objected to the film and it was banned in New York and Illinois. One reviewer scoffed at Vanderbilt's prediction that Hitler would eventually pose a threat to world peace. The film was thought lost until a single copy was found in Belgium and it was screened at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 2013. Prag Collection State: City: Date: 1924
