Four certificates in three different colors and styles. The company had 154 patented mine claims at Santa Rita; and mill site along with water rights of 185,701 acres, 6 miles distant at Hurley, both in Grant County. At the time these certificates were issued, this was the oldest copper mine in New Mexico and there had been over 100 years of mining activity. There are records of operation dating to 1804 as a "Santa Rita del Cobre" grant. Along the way, title passed from the Santa Rita Mining Company to the Chino Copper Company. Two of the certificates are blue in 100 share denomination. One of these was issued in 1911 and cancelled in 1916, another is partially issued (no issuee) and cancelled in 1911. Third certificate is green for "less than 100 shares" issued in 1915 and cancelled in 1915 and the fourth is orange, issued in 1917 and cancelled in 1919. Hole and stamp cancels.City: Santa RitaCounty: GrantState: NMDate:
