Cert. #111, issued to the Goldfield Merger Mines Company for 63,893 shares, 6% of the total capitalization of the company. Signed by A.A. Codd as secretary and C.M. Smith as vice-president. The company had 3 unpatented claims with gold and silver ore (1910 Mines Directory- Vol. 1). Nice signature from A.A. Codd, a well known Nevada mining figure. In addition to Goldfield, Codd was involved in Rawhide as a promoter and miner and was president of the Rawhide Mining Company. He was later involved in the Divide district as well as Weepah and Gold Reef . The Velvet claim was one of Goldfield's first and was a very rich strike located 1/4 mile s.w. of Goldfield town (panicof1907.com). Codd also built the Nevada Short Line Railroad to connect Lower Rochester with the Southern Pacific R.R. (Top 25 of Nevada, Van Brocklin). The certificate is in ex. condition and was issued at Goldfield, Nevada. Uncancelled.
