Henry Naha katsina of Velvet shirt dancer. Velvet Shirt wears a ribbon shirt which gives him the name Navan (shirt) Katsina. He represents the blooming of plant life and focuses on the beauty of life. This Katsina is very colorful; his songs are prayers for rain to sustain all life forms. Piece from right hand appears too be missing or broken off. Otherwise, great condition. Approx. 11" high. Henry Naha was born in 1964 in Moenkopi (Third Mesa) and began carving in the 1980s. He is a well known carver who specializes in detailed carvings. Due to the fragile nature of Katchina’s, in person or video previews are recommended, as is local pick up.
