Dexter Smith was the son of H.Smith, of Smith and Wesson. He produced only 300 of these falling block 12 ga. shotguns. 30 inch barrel. The falling block was actuated by a lever on the right side of the receiver. One of these interesting shotguns was at Little Bighorn, carried by Private Henry A. Baily carried in his scabbard. Action works well and the wood furniture is very nice. Overall, nice and rare piece of American history with Little Bighorn heritage.
