This is early number 28 for 30 shares issued to Homer Rawson. Signed by DW Dale and Henry Booth. Two vignettes. Center top is a mountain scene and right is underground miners in a shaft. Certificate is showing its age and has heavy folds, and edge issues. The Valley Forge had a bed rock mine in the Big Bug district. Officers were H. Booth president, G Anderson vice president, JM Eddy second vice president, JH Hamilton treasurer and DW Gales secretary. There was certainly a lot of hype around this company. "This company have 18,000 feet of true fissure veins, which are being developed and show large ore bodies." [Weekly Arizona Miner, May 28, 1880] Lodes owned by the company include those bearing such evocative names as "The Edgar A. Poe Lode," "The Raven Lode," "The Jesuit Lode," and "The Rebel Lode" [prospectus booklet] But we could find no production numbers for them!
