Circa 1904-1905. Vintage Victor Talking Machine, 10 inch turn table, wooden base of refinished oak is 16 x 16 inches; height of the box is 8 inches, but the metal arm rises higher. Multi paneled curved wooden horn is 26 long and 21 1/2 inches in diameter; with a significant crack. Original brass plaque reads SN 28149; type VIOV. Paperwork inside indicates last repaired at Loma Linda California, and includes the winding handle. From the Victor-Victrola Page: "The Victor IV was a substantial product. It featured a 10-inch turntable and a powerful double-spring motor with a Tapered Arm configuration. It sold new for $50.00, which equates to approximately $1,750.00 in today's money. The IV was one of the very few external-horn machines with a standard mahogany cabinet although a few oak examples have turned-up from the first months of production. Oak cabinet Victor IV's are considered highly collectible, since so few were produced in the early months of production."
