Vintage Victrola made by the Victor Talking Machine Company of Camden New Jersey (1901-1929), and sold by Frank J. Hart Southern California Music Company of Los Angeles. Brass needle arm and hand crank. Two side doors hold 22 records in four albums with Victor's "His Masters Voice" emblem. Center doors open to increase sound. 32 inches wide, 22 inches deep, 36 inches tall. Model VV 280 number 5470. The VV-280 was a mid-range 'console-style' phonograph, introduced in early 1922. The VV-280 was considered to be an upscale machine, with gold-plated hardware, a two-spring motor, and a minimal amount of hand-carved trim. VV-280 models were produced in a choice of mahogany, oak or walnut veneers. The original 1922 selling price of the 280 was $200.00. A total of just 12,700 VV-280 machines were made before production was terminated just a few months after its introduction.
