Bright red folder with five menus from the S.S. Mariposa en route Suva to Pago Pago, March 23rd, 1962. Each menu has a watercolor from their posts of call: Tahiti, San Francisco, Southern California, Fiji, New Zealand. Each watercolor signed L. Macouillard. Louis Macouillard was born in 1913 in San Francisco. He graduated from the California Guild of Arts and Crafts (CCAC) in 1934. He continued his studies in New York City at the Art Students League of New York. Macouillard designed two postage stamps, one of them being the commemorative 6¢ US postage stamp of Daniel Boone issued in September 1968. His work is featured in the permanent collection at Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco and the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
