Virgil Hancock of Bellaire, Texas, was president of the American Numismatic Association from 1975-1977, president of the Texas Numismatic Association 1968-1971, ANA Board of Governor 1971-73. This lot includes some of his personal medals: a 1962 convention badge from the American/Canadian Numismatic Association, held in Detroit, Michigan; a 1977 medal in plush blue velour case from the Ottawa Coin Club; three medals from the Organization of International Numismatists third meeting in 1970 in Los Angeles. Also, a 1972 U.S. Uncirculated Set; 1956 Mexico 50 centavos; "not one cent" Civil War token (possibly a fantasy piece); nine uncirculated Argentina coins; 1823 large cent (possibly a fake); St. Christopher's Medal; and an EF 1911-D Lincoln penny.
