Collection consists of: 24 postcards: 18 split back, postmarks 1907 - 1967; 3 undivided backs, postmarked 1906 - 1909; 1 stamped Old Washoe Club/Virginia City's Oldest Saloon, postmarked 1957; 1 RPC of man, Held for . . ., postmarked 1909; and 1 missent, postmarked 1961; Rounding out this unique collection are 16 envelopes: 1 signed by Edward W. Gladding/Postmaster, postmarked 1946; 11 First Day of Issue commemorating the silver (100th) anniversary of the discovery of silver at the Comstock Lode, 1859 - 1959, all postmarked June 8, 1959, one with blue-and-silver sticker seal; and 4 other envelopes including one missent to Virginia City, Montana, postmarked 1951, and one commemorating the 100th birthday of Mark Twain, postmarked 1935.
