Nothing like this has been seen before. The eagle/star W. Rogers mark was used by William Rogers between 1825 to 1841 on his coin silver spoons. From 1878 to 1893, after the death of William Sr., it was used by Simpson, Hall, Miller and Company after they signed an agreement with Wm. Rogers Jr. This mark was used again off and on from the late 1800s until at least 1939 by the International Silver Co. The Virginia & Truckee Railroad was chartered 11 February 1869, opened 1 January 1870, and then sold to the Virginia & Truckee Railway on 1 July 1905. An 8” diameter silver tray with an ornate “VT 1936” engraved in the center. Bears a faint “[eagle]Wm Rogers[star]/ 613” hallmark. Includes plate display stand. Great condition, patina. - Jacobitz Collection -59741City: Virginia CityCounty: StoreyState: NVDate:
