Incorp 1868 Nevada. Bank of California, whose Nevada agent, William Sharon, would foreclose upon the mines or mills when their owners defaulted on payments. The bank gradually came into possession of many important mining and ore-processing facilities. Sharon, along with business partners Darius Ogden Mills and William Ralston, formed the bank-owned Union Mill & Mining Company to process the ore from the mills that had been foreclosed upon. Railroad went from Virginia City, passing mills along the 17 mile route, to Carson City. #188, I/C, 8 shares @ $100 ea. issued to D.O. Mills (Darius Ogden Mills) June 1, 1874 (7 handwritten over 6), signed by secretary and V.P., signed on back by D.O. Mills cancelling certificate June 29, 1874.
