Metal badge with hanger shaped as a horse bit inscribed "Co. C / 6th / Mo. Vol. Cav." At bottom are crossed swords and F L T logo. Made by Trebus & Steiner of St. Louis. The 6th Missouri Volunteer Cavalry was a cavalry regiment that served in the Union Army during the American Civil War. The 6th Missouri Cavalry was mustered in for three years service on February 14, 1862, by consolidation of Wright's Cavalry Battalion, Wood's Cavalry Battalion, and Hawkins' Cavalry Battalion under the command of Colonel Clark Wright. The regiment lost a total of 315 men during service; 2 officers and 34 enlisted men killed or mortally wounded, 6 officers and 273 enlisted men died of disease.
