Location: Methodist Mining District, Siskiyou County, California (printed under title). Inc. Oct. 11th, 1887 in CA. No. 46, issued for 1,000 shares to HL Garfield, trustee, on October 21st, 1887. Signed by JC Bollinger as president and A.P. King, secretary. Not cancelled. Very attractive design with black border and print, fancy logo and birds-eye view of mining camp in the hills. Printed by JJ Evans, SF. Folds with minor separation, toning. 5.25 x 10" The Volunteer Mine was formerly known as the Indian Queen. In 1888, they were driving an adit 200 ft. to connect with a shaft 60 ft. deep. The vein is two to four feet wide. Located near the junction of Black Bear Creek and Salmon on Methodist Creek.
