Endorsed on the reverse by WH Chedic. Walter Chedic came to Carson City at the age of 1 in 1858, right after the Mormon exodus and Mountain Meadows Massacre. He grew-up in Carson City working for his father's grocery business. In 1884, Walter opened the City Drug Store, opposite the Opera House near the U. S. Mint on North Carson Street in Carson City under the name “W. H. Chedic & Co." The drug store was located at the back of the family grocery store. An 1887 earthquake damaged that store and forced Chedic to relocate the Rinkle Building (see vignette on the billhead in this group). Chedic borrowed too much money and his drug store business failed in about 1892. Chedic and his wife then managed the Ormbsy House and later a meat market. For more on Chedic, see Volume Two of the Nevada Bottle Book.
