This plaque was removed from one of the first telephones used in WW1. The earliest radiotelephones were developed by the Signal Corps and introduced in the European theater in 1918. This plaque reads: ANTI AIRCRAFT TELEPHONE TYPE EE-9 SIGNAL CORP U.S. ARMY ORDER NO. 140390 DATE 1918, 1st Balloon Co. 5th Div. Meuse-Argonne Oct. 11-23, 1918. The battle of Muese-Argonne has proven to be the deadliest battle in American history.
