This is a ZFK43 sniper scope with quick release mount. Extremely rare German sniper scope used on the equally rare German G-43, 8 mm, semi-automatic sniper rifle. The scope is marked “ZF K 43” and also “DOW A”, serial number 42009. On the side of the scope is the number 2831 and above the 2831 is marked a large "U" and a diamond with the maker’s mark inside the diamond and the number “45”. The scope has excellent optics with a tri-center line. The scope is an ultra rare ZKF43 scope and mount. These rare scopes were produced in late '44 and early '45 by the Carl Ziess Company in Jena as an improvement over the standard ZF4 scope. Scope is a zinc alloy casting which was a total departure from the previous ZFK model. It also featured redesigned wind-age and elevation knob with smooth turning that has a special pointer/quicker on the scope tube to specifically indicate the exact range or wind-age adjustment which provided a far more precise adjustment system then the previous model. It is believed that approximately 100 of these scopes were produced with very few surviving the war. Scope to mount clamps are missing. State: City: Date: FHWAC#: 39811
