1.) Captain Jack M. Ilfrey, flew the P-38 Lightning, first with The 94th "Hat in the Ring" Squadron, first Fighter Group in Africa, and later in England with the 79th Fighter Squadron, 20th Fighter Group in March, 1944, as its commanding officer ~ On a June mission, Jack was forced to bail out of "Happy Jacks Go Buggy" just before it exploded ~ The remainder of this harrowing story and of the rest of his military career can be found on this print below the aircraft.~ LE 451/750 ~ (18" W x 12"H) 2) Captain Robert S. Johnson, flew the P-47 Thunderbolt with the 57th Fighter Group, 61st Fighter Squadron in England in April, 143 ~ He ended his combat duty in May 1944 as the second highest scoring Ace in Europe with 27 confirmed arial victories ~ His entire military story is found on this print below the aircraft ~ LE 212/750 ~ (18" W x 12"H)
