This is a beautifully constructed Officer's dirk. It measures 12 1/2 in. with sheath and 11 1/2 in. overall without. There is also a beautifully constructed leather scabbard. The blade is 7 1/2 in. long and has a beautiful hamon or hardened edge section with a wave and milky appearance. The ha or edge is very sharp and unused. The knife is too short to be considered a tonto but has similar construction. There is a sheath collar or habaki with an inscription on it; thought to be "divine wind" but unconfirmed. The handle is wood with bone trim. The blade has two narrow fullers on one side and a larger fuller on the other. This knife is unused and beautifully constructed. This is thought to have been made about the time of the second world war. State: City: Date: HWAC# 75645
