The Good Conduct Medal is awarded for exemplary behavior, efficiency, and fidelity in active Federal Military service. It is awarded on a selective basis to each soldier who distinguishes himself among his fellow soldiers with exemplary conduct, efficiency, and fidelity throughout a specified period of 3 years continuous enlisted active Federal military service completed after 27 August 1940. The immediate commander must approve the award and the award must be announced in permanent orders. This medal is in box from original manufacturer Silverman Brothers. Other items in this lot include stripes, National Association of Quartermen and Leadingmen small anchor pin, small U.S. Star pin, small USNR Griffin pin, large yellow metal (tin) of the coat of arms of the United States (1.5" diameter). Usually this is on 1" inch disk, all in gold color metal and is worn only by command sergeants major when in a position rated by a general officer or senior executive service level civilian, a Military Police suspender button with two crossed pistols under a star, Fraternal Order of Eagles pendant, a 3" x 1" Combat Infantry Badge depicting a silver flintlock rifle on a blue enamel paint background, superimposed on a silver oak leaf wreath; insignificant signs of wear and very light tarnish. The reverse has an overall blackened finish and is marked, “sterling,” in raised letters. The two, short WW2 type, attaching pins are missing, U.S. Navy Reserve Honorable Discharge pin, and several other small pins. Also a military patch and one dog tag for Leonard Johnson. A nice assortment of Military insignia WWII era items.
