Original ledger , 9.5 x 14", 250pp from assayer S. H. Johns. In this ledge, he records over 7,000 assays from hundreds of different customers, 1892-1894. Walkerville was a suburb of Butte, and was a major gold-silver mining community. The Alice mine was one of the largest in the district. Most of John's assays were for private individuals and one goldsmith and one silversmith, as well as the Goldsmith Mining Co. Excellent rcord of a private assayer firm. [ Walkerville Montana
