Signed by the president, George Whitney, and secretary, Isaac Thorne. Not cancelled. Vignettes of a Native American warrior on horseback (left) and prospecting tools (bottom center). Printed by Towne & Bacon, S.F. Fold, very nice condition. Thorne is listed as an attorney on the Montgomery Block in the 1863 Langley directory. Abner Wade is not listed, nor is the mining company. The Indian Mining District was discovered in 1861. It was located in nearby Pershing County in the area of Indian Canyon on the east flank of Humboldt Range, south of the Buena Vista district and 8 miles south of Unionville [Tingley].
