Lot of 15. Five are issued, 1926-45. The rest are signed but unissued, punch cancelled. Purple border, vignette of eagle on watch. The Waltham Watch Company, founded in 1850 in Waltham, Massachusetts by Aaron Lufkin Dennison, revolutionized watchmaking by introducing mass production and interchangeable parts. It became famous during the Civil War for its affordable "William Ellery" model and later gained international recognition for its highly accurate railroad chronometers. Between 1850 and 1957, Waltham produced about 40 million precision instruments, and while the original company closed, the brand continues today under international ownership.
