1894 wanted for murder poster. On March 7, 1894 Mrs. O H Strickland murdered Mrs. Adeline Eggleston for unknown reasons. When the body of Mrs. Eggleston was exhumed it was discovered she died from a hammer blow to the head. The hammer was found without a trace of blood. Mrs. Strickland stated she had an argument with the deceased the night before the murder and she did not kill her. A dress worn by Mrs. Strickland was recently washed and had blood statins that she attributed to her 5 year old son's nose bleed which was found to be false. According to the Bridgeport Chronicle on August 25, 1894 the Eggleston estate was worth $300.05 and $95.50 was paid to the state administor. This wanted poster is 14x9.5" and offers a $300 reward. There are verso tape repairs on right side, upper right wrinkle, no creases, presents well from the front. Mono county California
