Four Storey County Auditor's Office documents attached together that are receipts from July, August, September, and October 1878 for the funds allowed for the Washington Guard to rent the armory for a month. Signed by the auditor (and some signed by the deputy. Reverses signed by representatives for the Washington Guard. The 1881 Appendix to Journals of Senate and Assembly lists the Washington Guard as Company E of the Nevada Infantry. It is also listed as one of the five military companies in Virginia City by De Quille in the History of the Big Bonanza.
