Washoe City, Nevada. Two original items: 1.) Lawrence & Houseworth of Washoe City, 1860s Mounted Photograph; 2.) Letter of Peter N. Marker, on the letterhead of P. N. Marker, Dealer in General Merchandise, Washoe City, June 1, 1876, enclosing monthly rent to the V&TRR for his store and the cost of coal he consumed during the month. MSS. A.L.S. A native of Denmark, Peter N. Marker (1842-1918) operated a general store and was a lumberman at Washoe City. Marker and Bastin operated the Washoe & White’s Canyon Flume which delivered wood to Washoe City in the 1870s. State: Nevada City: Washoe City Date: c1870s
