Original master township plat showing Township 16 North, Range 19 East on the Mount Diablo Meridian. This is the Washoe Lake Little Valley Township. Little Valley is shown as White Rock Valley on this map. This map is signed by John W. North, the Nevada Surveyor General. It shows sawmills above Franktown, an original quartz mill in Franktown, and various sawmills along the foothills of Washoe Valley. This is a choice early survey map from right after the discovery of the Comstock Lode. It does not show the causeway across Washoe Lake to the mill. This map is mounted on canvas, approx. 23.75 x 17.75, good condition. This lot also includes a framed newspaper page from Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper from Virginia City, Nevada, 1878. Overall size is about 20 x 16.25, good condition.
