Lot of 93 different web notes from Series 1988A, 1993 & 1995. Web notes are created from continuous rolls of paper: "web printing production." Between 1992 and 1996, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing experimented to see if a web press was cheaper than intaglio printing, which uses flat sheets. Web notes were made for three series of dollar bills: 1988A; Catalina Vasquez Villalpando (treasurer)/ Nicholas F. Brady (Secretary of the Treasury; 1993: Mary Ellen Withrow/ Lloyd Bentsen; 1995: Mary Ellen Withrow/ Robert Rubin. Unable to sustain long continuous runs led to constant breakdown, and quality was less, web press was discontinued in 1996.
