Lot of 5. 1) Dateline Gold Hill, Nev., May 20, 1874. Pay to T.G. Taylor $15,112.50! Signed by W.H. Smith. Reverse is signed by Thomas G. Taylor, who was the superintendent of the famous Yellow Jacket Mine. 2 cent Washington revenue stamp. 2) Dateline Virginia, Nev., March 2, 1875. Agency of the Bank of California. Signed by Hobart Marlette Co. W.S. Hobart was a prominent Comstock lumber figure. 3) Consolidated California and Virginia Mining Company. Dateline Virginia, Nev., Oct. 31st, 1885 (Nevada's 21st anniversary). Pay to J.P. Jones (or his attorney) $12,000. Reverse signed J.P. Jones by his attorney S.S. Jones. Jones was a Republican U.S. Senator and superintendent of the Crown Point Mine in Gold Hill. 4) Carson City check dated 1901 signed by The Thaxter Drug Store. 5) 1895. D.L. Bliss deposits $500 payable to himself. Signed on the back by Bliss, famed lumber figure (and later Tahoe Railway and Steamer).
