A certain W.J. Simpson wrote to Sperry & Company in Gridley, California, regarding a delivery of bran on behalf of his customer, John Thompson, who "...seems to think he can do better by ordering direct. He seems to think that I am trying to "Hogsmoggle" him in spite of all I can say." Mr. Simpson advises that his customer will likely call on them in the next week, but he is requesting help in getting Mr. Thompson to continue ordering through him instead of going direct. The message is handwritten on two pages, each about 8.5 x 5.5 inches. The second page has a small, thumb-sized, torn-out section (see photo for details).
