Lot of 8: rare and curious group of stocks from various western states. First and foremost, the "Bodie and Hawthorne Telephone and Telegraph Company," issued to Andrew Smith, October 24, 1892. Certificate No. 64, for 20 shares, was signed by Thos. H. Leggett, president and R.L. McCarty, secretary. There are assessment stamps on the reverse, and it has been signed over to J.S. Cain, a prominent Bodie business man. Included are (3) "universal High Power Telephone Company" certificates, with varying dates from 1918 to 1930. There is a "Powder River Telephone Company," the "Lyman Telephone Company," and (2) unissued stocks, the "Mason Valley Telephone and Telegraph Company" and "Dead Canyon Telephone Co." both in mint condition. All these documents are in good to excellent condition. Please inspect. (Prag Collection)
