Lot of two different express forms. 1) 1865 receipt for Martin Hoover for sending a coin package valued at $565 to Quincy, California. 5 x 8.5" Folds, soiling, tape in corners. 2) Red print version. 1866. JD Compton is sending a package of bullion valued at $1,122 to Marysville. 4.25 x 7.75" Fold, soiling, tape remainders on reverse. Whiting & Co. was formed in 1856 with a partnership between Meek, Everett, Morley, and F.B. Whiting. Service ran from Marysville to Quincy, California via La Porte, Gibsonville and Onion Valley; from Bidwell Bar to Meadow Valley; and the east branch of the Yuba River, serving Yuba, Butte, and Plumas Counties.
