Located at "Indian Springs District, Lyon County, Nevada". California seal vignette. Bent corners. Overall very nice. The original Whitman Gold and Silver was named for Colonel G. W. Whitman an early arrival on the Comstock. The Whitman G&S was a serious producer in 1864 and the most important mine the Indian Springs District. At one time the stock sold for over $200 a foot. The Whitman Silver showed no work or production. Includes notes on Whitman, the Whitman mine, the Indian Springs District and Como (including a phantom Indian battle.
