This typed letter on Winchester Arm Company letterhead is signed by the Vice President Winchester Bennett, grandson of Oliver Winchester. Winchester Bennet was V.P. from 1915-1918. This letter was addressed to D. Chauncey Brewer in Sept. 1915. Europe is at war with Germany; the United States will not enter the war until April, 1917. Mr. Brewer is President of the North American Civic League for Immigrants. The discussion is the simulation of immigrants to the American culture. Clearly, Mr. Bennett is aware that the loss of able bodied men to work in industry would be of concern (if or) when the USA enters a war with Germany. A beautiful vignette of the Winchester facility at center with a Winchester coat of arms logo upper left. A fold crease in the middle. Winchester Bennett's autograph is with a fountain pen. 8 1/4 in. X 11 in. [
