William H. Keith was a San Francisco Gold Rush apothecary. Very busy during the 1856-1858 period. Previously, I had written that there are no known embossed bottles from him. This is incorrect, according to our friend Tom Quinn, who states that a clear cylindrical bottle with vertical embossing is most often seen (though scarce to rare-fh), as well as a "large flat oval in clear and aqua." Interestingly, Keith has almost the exact same name as world famous California landscape artist William Keith, who did not come to San Francisco until 1859. This label adorned a bottle in the Easton trunk. Easton bought this distilled Bay Water as either a medicinal cure for ailments, or as a perfumed, Florida Water style content.
