Certificate no. 59 issued to Frances L. Mooers for 2279 shares at $10 each, on Sep 24 ,1901. Signed by C. Burcham as secretary and John Singleton as president.
Left front, proof that Frances L. Mooers transferred his 2279 shares from his no 15 certificate of 6000 shares to this certificate no. 59.
Cancelled on May16, 1902 by Frances L. Mooers selling to Edwin D. Mooers all shares, with C. Burcham as secretary, J.C. Robinson as witness.

This is a very special document, that has signatures of the all 3 founders of the richest southern Californian mining company of its time (worth more than $20 million!).
Fredrick Mooers, John Singleton and Charles Burcham were friends that discovered the Yellow Aster Gold Mine in 1895 and with that, the famous Rand Mining District was formed. According to HMdb.org, "[...] the mine operated 1895 to 1918, closed until 1921, then reopened and operated until 1933". Later leased by the Anglo American Mining Corp. Ltd. for an additional 6 years.
