# 430 for three shares to Donohoe Ralston & Company. Dateline Gold Hill 1864. Incorporated February 17, 1863. 25c Power of Att'y revenue stamp. Naked Native American riding a horse vignette. Britton and Company printer. Left side shows staining from original telegraph attached to rear. Pen and cut cancelled. Donohoe Ralston was an early San Francisco banking company. Established in 1861, William C Ralston began his own bank in 1865 - The Bank of California. This is not an uncommon stock certificate, but rare as a territorial certificate. The Yellow Jacket would go on to e one of the top seven producers on the Comstock. Incorporated on February 17th, the February 13th Sacramento Daily Union reported that "They struck it fearfully rich in the Yellow Jacket claim in Gold Hill yesterday." Telegraph gives agent permission to sell one share at $1,000! It would be risky Comstock loans made by Ralston that would caused Donohoe and Ralson to split. Fabulous history in this cert.
