1893! Number 12 for 1 share to SS Huntley. "of Helena, Montana" in print under extremely nice pictorial of Old Faithful. Dateline October 20, 1893. Folds, cancelled (pencil) and many pin holes. Still looks very nice. This was a Harry W. Child Company. Child was an entrepreneur who managed development and ranching companies in southern Montana. He was most notable as a founder and longtime president of the Yellowstone Park Company, which provided accommodation and transportation to visitors to Yellowstone National Park from 1892 to 1980. Child was, with park superintendent and National Park Service administrator Horace Albright, singularly responsible for the development of the park as a tourist destination and for the construction of much of the park's visitor infrastructure. The Yellowstone Park Transportation Company had an exclusive agreement with the Northern Pacific Railway to transport arriving railroad passengers into the park. S. S. Huntley was president and general manager of the Yellowstone Park Transportation Company and a pioneer stage man of Montana. He operated a daily stage from Salt Lake City, through Boise City, to Walla Walla and to The Dalles. The firm afterward organized lines in Oregon and California, and were the largest stage proprietors in the country. Stuart Mackenzie Montana Collection
