Lot of 8 different stereoviews by Thomas Houseworth & Co. Light to medium contrast. 1) Six cards from Lawrence & Houseworth, c.1865 and 1866: 1103--The Bridal Veil Fall (orange and yellow card); 1105--Tu-tock-ah-nu-la (El Capitan); 1112--The Yo-Semite Fall; 1115--The South Dome; and 1128--View in the Canon below the Vernal Fall. 2) Two cards from Thomas Houseworth & Co., c1870s: 1628--Tu-Tock-Ah-Nu-La (El Capitan); and 1645--Royal Arches and Washington Column. According to Mautz, Thomas Houseworth partnered with Lawrence 1864-67 on Montgomery St. in San Francisco. In 1867, he formed Thomas Houseworth & Co., which operated at 9 and 12 Montgomery St. c.1874-86. Mautz calls him the leading retailer and publisher of photographs in San Francisco.
