Five different stereoviews (4" x 7") of Yosemite by well-known San Francisco publisher Taber. Cards include: No. 1094--Tutocanula or El Capitan; 1122--Mirror View; 1077--Pohono or the Bridal Veil; View down the valley from Union Pt.; and 1153--Half Dome. Light to medium contrast. Mautz has a great write-up on Taber. Isaiah West Taber (1830-1912) came to California during the Gold Rush and prospected at Chinese Camp, Mississippi Bar on the American River. He returned to New York afterwards to do dentistry and photography. Came to San Francisco in 1864 and partnered with various photographic firms until 1875. He was in business alone from 1876-1906. His studio at No. 8 Montgomery (these cards) was in 1880. Produced views of Yosemite, Chinatown, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Alaska, and Oregon.
