Lot of 8 different, all copyright 1870. Views of Mirror Lake, El Capitan, Bridal Veil Fall, Nevada Falls, and Vernal Falls. John Payson Soule (1828–1904) was an influential American photographer and publisher who opened a Boston studio around 1859, producing stereographic views and documenting landmarks, landscapes, and events such as the city's 1872 fire. In the 1880s he traveled west to photograph Colorado and Utah before relocating to Seattle in 1888. There he continued his work, notably photographing the Seattle Fire of 1889, until his death.
