6.5" x 4.25" on thick cardstock. One side is a printed collage of brown-tinted photographs advertising Cheyenne Wells. "The Apex City of Eastern Colorado. Directory of the Thoroughly Reliable Business Houses." Advertises seven businesses: Hotel Monte Cristo, Russell Bros. (Bankers), Williams & Delaplain (Livery), The Monte Cristo Livery, Chicago Lumber & Coal Co., P.H. Kleeman & Co. (Builders), and G.M. Sheldon & Co. (Insurance). The card was clearly mailed at some point given the cancels on the back and the tiny remainder of a postage stamp. Unfortunately, the date on the cancel is not readable. The Monte Cristo was not built until 1887. The town became the county seat of newly formed Cheyenne County in 1889. Two small tears on the bottom edge.
