Six women posing with two mining lamps at the entrance to the C& C Shaft in Virginia City. Reverse has pencil notations identifying the women by first name and the date of the mine tour as July 18, 1902. "On this day Gram went down in mine 2300 feet. She was 15 years old. They went to watch the men work. They made them change clothes." Photograph is 4.75 x 6.75" on 6.5 x 8.75" mount. Fading to picture, soiling, and deep crease upper left corner. Please inspect.
