Group of three ledgers from the New Almaden Quicksilver Mining Company, 1879 to 1916. A. About 10 pages of receipts for stock purchased in the Quicksilver Mining Company, 1879. These documents show who the stock was issued to and for how many shares. V a company ledger of accounts circa 1894 that shows mining property income from properties, income from mining Quicksilver, quantities of quicksilver mined, payroll, mine expenses, and other items. The overall date of this ledger appears to be 1889 to about 1894. Of particular interest, Quicksilver sales during the 1889 to 1890. Were about $50,000 per month. See the third ledger is a ledger of the new Almaden companies cattle account c1915 to 16. The new Almaden Quicksilver mining company was the most important Mercury mining company in the United States. It provided Mercury to gold and silver mines all over America, and had it start with the Spanish long before the discovery of gold in California. New Almaden California
