Includes EARLY Nevada! Over half the 3 page paper is mining. Includes notes on the Silver Region of western Utah (soon to be Nevada). He highlighted the Ophir, Mexican, Central, Bryant’s California and Gould & Curry. “The Ophir is erecting works to reduce ores using the Frieberg system….” The other half of the paper are notes on 1860 California. Visher was an important artist in San Francisco. He sketched early landscapes of California. In 1870 he published ‘Pictorial of California’ which gathered nearly 200 of his drawings forming the first comprehensive documentation of California scenery. Virginia City Nevada
