Signed by president Ernest May and secretary H. May. Pen cancelled. Red border, blue and red printing. Folds, creases, pinholes. 5.25 x 8.5" Company held claims on Bald Mountain, 5 miles west of Lead. Ernest May moved to Deadwood in 1876 and mines the Wheeler Claim in Deadwood Gulch. He then opened a mercantile business in Lead, invested in land and mines, served as president of the First National Bank of Lead, was the mayor of Lead, and is credited with the creation of the South Dakota state flag in 1909.
